The Meta Quest 3S has been an exceedingly popular gift idea this holiday season, and it isn’t hard to see why. The headset was pretty much tailor-made for newcomers to VR gaming, boasting the same graphical processing power as the standard Quest 3 at a significantly lower cost.<\/p>\n

In fact, as described in our 4.5\/5-star review<\/a>, the Quest 3S is “quite literally a Quest 3 with the Quest 2’s lenses and display”. Starting at $299, the beginner-friendly VR headset also boasts upgraded hand tracking and low light tracking capabilities, next-gen controllers, and complete access to the same library of games as the more-expensive Meta Quest 3. Furthermore, the device is powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and comes with 8GB of RAM straight out of the box.<\/p>\n

Sure, if you directly compare the Meta Quest 3S with the standard Quest 3<\/a>, you’ll notice that the more affordable model has a lower-res display and narrower field-of-view than its premium counterpart, but you’re also paying at least $200 less for it. In other words, if you’re trying to get into VR gaming for the first time, the Meta Quest 3S is the best way to do it for cheap, especially when you slap on a $50 no-strings discount from Walmart.<\/p>\n
