Rangers general manager Chris Young wants it to be made very clear that Texas is not shopping Corey Seager.<\/p>\n

Of course, \u201cnot shopping\u201d and \u201cnot willing to move\u201d are two very different things \u2014 especially in December.<\/p>\n

The Rangers\u2019 current vision isn\u2019t entirely clear after the stunning Marcus Semien trade. That kicked off a flurry of chatter around the 2023 World Series champions, specifically their other star middle infielder, Seager.<\/p>\n

Any team eyeing October, the Boston Red Sox reportedly among them<\/a>, would at least consider a Seager fit. He\u2019s a big bat to add to the middle of the order with a lengthy postseason track record. <\/p>\n

But Young said Sunday on SiriusXM<\/a> that any calls he\u2019s had regarding Seager have been incoming.<\/p>\n

\u201cCorey Seager is a great player, and teams are looking for great players,\u201d Young said. \u201cWhat I love is that Corey Seager is a great player for the Texas Rangers. Our goal is to win a championship, and to win a championship, you have to have great players. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so while I understand teams checking in, I think that\u2019s been a little bit overblown in terms of \u2014 we are not shopping Corey Seager.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Injuries long have been an issue for Seager, who played in 102 games this past season. The 31-year-old hit .271 with an .860 OPS, hitting 21 homers with 50 RBIs. <\/p>\n
