PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Icy conditions are a concern for the Monday commute across the Delaware Valley with a refreeze underway after several inches fell on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Main roads are mostly clear, but the focus will be on side streets, sidewalks, and driveways that are covered with a thin layer of ice in some areas.<\/p>\n
Schools across Philadelphia, as well as courts and government offices, are on a two- hour delay as cleanup continues.<\/p>\n
People got creative on Sunday, using the good old-fashioned broom to push the snow off the top of their cars.<\/p>\n
The good thing is that the snow fell early enough to get a head start on cleanup.<\/p>\n
Families in Montgomery and Chester counties had snowblowers out to clear sidewalks as much as possible.<\/p>\n
Many others broke out the shovels and got to work.<\/p>\n
“Coming up a hill, especially when it’s slippery,” said Lisa Walski of Norristown, Pennsylvania. “Take it slow, even driving because the roads, you think they’re alright, but there’s ice still on them.”<\/p>\n
No matter where you live, the theme Monday will be to take your time.<\/p>\n
