CHICAGO (WLS) — At least 50 people have been shot, six fatally, in gun violence across the city so far this Fourth of July weekend, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

Click here to watch<\/a><\/p>\n A man was shot to death inside a vehicle on the city’s North Side on Saturday morning, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n Police said the shooting<\/a> happened in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood’s 800-block of North Cambridge Avenue just after 9:45 a.m.<\/p>\n A 46-year-old man was inside a vehicle when someone fired shots, striking him in the back, police said.<\/p>\n The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.<\/p>\n The shooter fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.<\/p>\n One person of interest is in custody, police said.<\/p>\n Area Three detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.<\/p>\n Summer 2025 violence: Tracking shootings across Chicago | Live updates<\/a><\/p>\n One the same morning, a man was found shot to death on the city’s West Side, police said.<\/p>\n Officers responded to the Austin neighborhood’s 1000-block of North Lavergne Avenue just before 5 a.m.<\/p>\n A 30-year-old man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.<\/p>\n The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.<\/p>\n No one is in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n Hours earlier, four people were injured, three critically, in a mass shooting<\/a> near the Cook County Courthouse, police said.<\/p>\n Officers responded to a call about walk-in gunshot victims at Mt. Sinai Hospital around 1:45 a.m.<\/p>\n The victims were sitting in a parked vehicle near South California Avenue and West 27th Street in the Little Village neighborhood.<\/p>\n That’s when a male drove a dark SUV past the group, and people inside fired shots, police said.<\/p>\n Three men, 32, 26 and 25, were shot in the body and are listed in critical condition at Mt. Sinai Hospital.<\/p>\n A fourth man, 33, was shot in the leg. He is listed in fair condition at the same hospital.<\/p>\n No one is in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.<\/p>\n A man was found shot to death on the city’s South Side late Friday night, police said.<\/p>\n Officers responded to a call about a person shot in the West Englewood neighborhood’s 6400-block of South Winchester Avenue around 11:55 p.m.<\/p>\n Responding officers found a 36-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Marco A. Velasquez-Sierra.<\/p>\n The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n There is no one in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.<\/p>\n And just minutes earlier, at least seven people were seriously injured in another mass shooting<\/a> in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, police said.<\/p>\n Police said officers responded to the 4800-block of South Justine Street just before 11:15 p.m.<\/p>\n Two men walked up and started shooting into a crowd of people outside, police said.<\/p>\n All of the victims were hospitalized in serious to critical condition.<\/p>\n A 27-year-old woman, shot in the leg, is listed in serious condition at Mt.
