\n\tEric Idle<\/a> has revealed he was speaking on the phone to the \u201cclever, talented and very thoughtful\u201d Rob Reiner<\/a> mere hours before Reiner and his wife were killed at their L.A. home. <\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tThe Monty Python<\/a> alum tweeted early this morning L.A. time that he spoke to Reiner \u201cfor over an hour\u201d last night on the phone.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was telling me about fiming [sic] at Stonehenge and his thoughts for the future,\u201d added Idle. \u201cThis is so awful. I shall miss him. A clever, talented and very thoughtful man. So awful.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tIdle said he had known Reiner for 50 years, having \u201cmet him at his Dad\u2019s in 1975.\u201d The pair were good friends. Reiner was friendly with the old Monty Python troupe and at the time of his death he was working on a Fawlty Towers reboot<\/a> with John Cleese, which he and his wife were producing.<\/p>\n

\n\tReiner\u00a0and his wife, photographer-producer Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead Sunday in their Brentwood home. The family has confirmed their deaths, the LAPD is investigating<\/a>, and sources have said the cause was stabbing, although the LAPD is not confirming details at this point.<\/p>\n

\n\tTributes have been pouring in <\/a>for the Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally and A Few Good Men filmmaker, including from Jamie Lee Curtis<\/a>, Christopher Guest, Elijah Wood and Virginia Madsen.<\/p>\n

Rob Reiner was a lovely man. I spoke to him last night for over an hour. I always enjoyed his company. I met him at his Dad’s in 1975. He was telling me about fiming at Stonehenge and his thoughts for the future. This is so awful. I shall miss him. A clever, talented and\u2026<\/p>\n
