It\u2019s a new week, which means it\u2019s time to mine Landman<\/a>\u2019s latest episode for North Texas Easter eggs. The West Texas-set oil rig drama, co-created by Taylor Sheridan<\/a>, has shot across Dallas-Fort Worth. The script, accordingly, reflects the milieu. <\/p>\n

Here are some of the local ties in episode 5 of season 2. <\/p>\n

A Dallas Cowboy legend\u2019s beer brand<\/p>\n

Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton<\/a>) and his son, Cooper (Jacob Lofland), swing by the fictional Patch Cafe, a spot beloved by the oil rig workers. The building is located in Fort Worth in real life and was once eyed as the brick-and-mortar home of Dayne\u2019s Craft Barbecue<\/a> before becoming a set for the show. <\/p>\n

Tommy is presented with Patch\u2019s newly created beer menu, a treat for out-of-town guests expected during an upcoming oil expo. In his typical sardonic fashion, Tommy pokes fun at the beverage names. <\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s one just called Eight,\u201d he says, gazing at the menu. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think Troy Aikman owns that,\u201d the waitress replies, referring to the former Cowboys quarterback\u2019s light beer brand<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI might have to try that just out of respect,\u201d Tommy says. The waitress chimes in: \u201cIt\u2019s supposed to be healthy.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sheridan and the Cowboys have longstanding ties. Jerry Jones made a cameo<\/a> in Landman\u2019s first season. In 2023, Sheridan partnered with the football team for a schedule release video that referenced<\/a> his hit Western Yellowstone. More recently, Sheridan and Aikman posed in a photograph posted on social media<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Downtown Fort Worth is once more in the backdrop in this episode. The show shut down streets across the city\u2019s historic core several times in recent months. The marquee sign of Cattlemen\u2019s Steak House<\/a>, whose interior was used for a shoot in a previous episode, is shown as Tommy drives by in one scene. In another clip, the city is captured from an aerial angle. <\/p>\n
