\n\tWhoopi Goldberg<\/a> and her fellow co-hosts on \u201cThe View<\/a>\u201d condemned Donald Trump<\/a> over his controversial response to the tragic death of Rob Reiner<\/a>, the legendary actor and filmmaker who died at 78 years old along with his wife in an apparent homicide. Trump reacted to the news <\/a>by claiming Reiner\u2019s death was \u201cdue to the anger he caused others\u201d from being outspoken against Trump (aka \u201cTrump Derangement System,\u201d as the president likes to call it). Reiner\u2019s son, Nick, was arrested and taken into custody<\/a> in connection to the deaths of his parents.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen \u201cThe View\u201d co-host Sunny Hostin started reading Trump\u2019s reaction to Reiner\u2019s death live on air, Goldberg chimed in and adviser her to stop by saying: \u201cDon\u2019t read it, just tell them that it\u2019s there.\u201d Hostin said of the post: \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s something we should be hearing about.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAna Navarro then delivered a blistering takedown of Trump\u2019s response in which she said: \u201cFor Trump to have put that out today, I\u2019m gonna say it: You know, damn it, there\u2019s an American family grieving. This is a tragedy, not just for the family, but for all who knew and loved him, and for the President of the United States to make this about him as a way to attack Rob Reiner, because he exercised his American right to speak up with what he disagreed with, is shameful. It is disgraceful. And of all the disgusting things that Donald Trump has done, this is right up there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump made his statement on Reiner in a post on his Truth Social profile. The president wrote: \u201cA very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGoldberg was directed by Reiner in the 1996 drama film \u201cGhosts of Mississippi\u201d and praised him as \u201can outspoken activist and quite a guy, quite an amazing man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe View\u201d hosts were not the only industry names to condemn Trump for his post. Rock icon Jack White took to Instagram and eviscerated Trump by writing: \u201cTrump you disgusting, vile, egomaniac, loser, child. Neither he nor any one of his followers can defend this gross, horrible insult to a beautiful artist who gave the world so much. To use someone\u2019s tragic death to promote your own vanity and fascist authoritarian agenda is a corrupt and narcissistic sin. Shame on you trump and anyone who defends this. God bless you Rob Reiner and thank you for what you gave the world. I never even met you and I still stand by you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNick Reiner, the late director\u2019s 32-year-old son, is being held on suspicion of murdering the director and his wife.
