{"id":45134,"date":"2025-07-07T04:55:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T04:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/45134\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T04:55:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T04:55:08","slug":"medicaid-cuts-in-trumps-tax-and-spending-bill-nbc-7-san-diego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/45134\/","title":{"rendered":"Medicaid Cut\u2019s in Trump\u2019s Tax and Spending Bill \u2013 NBC 7 San Diego"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The legislation makes sweeping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsandiego.com\/news\/business\/money-report\/medicaid-cuts-in-trumps-big-beautiful-bill-will-leave-millions-uninsured-threaten-rural-hospitals\/3859913\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">changes<\/a> to U.S. healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The bill will cut roughly $1.1 trillion in healthcare spending and result in 11.8 million people losing health insurance over the next decade, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbo.gov\/publication\/61533\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">estimates<\/a> from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 72-million people are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicaid.gov\/resources-for-states\/downloads\/eligib-oper-and-enrol-snap-october2024.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">enrolled<\/a> in Medicaid, which is around one-fifth of the U.S.\u2019s total population.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt really doesn&#8217;t matter what kind of insurance you have, whether you have Medi-Cal, whether you have Medicare, whether you have the Affordable Care Act, or whether you have employer provided or private insurance, all health care in the United States was just made measurably worse by this bill,\u201d U.S. Representative Mike Levin said.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration insists the cuts in the legislation aim to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Some people are concerned the cuts will impact people across the country including in San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe it. I\u2019m so worried about our kids,\u201d San Diego Therapist Vanessa Norman said.<\/p>\n<p>Changes to Medicaid and other programs will be phased in in the upcoming years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The legislation makes sweeping changes to U.S. healthcare.
