Arsenal will win the Premier League<\/a> four points clear of Manchester City<\/a> by season’s end, if the latest supercomputer prediction rings true. Mikel Arteta’s<\/a> Gunners managed a scrappy 2-1 win over Wolves<\/a> at the weekend in a match that was filled with late drama<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sam Johnstone put Arsenal<\/a> ahead by putting the ball into the back of his own net after 70 minutes, before Tolu Arokodare equalised for the visitors on the 90 minute mark. While Rob Edwards<\/a> then looked set to take a point from his side’s endeavours at the Emirates Stadium, fate had other plans for the encounter.<\/p>\n

That’s because Yerson Mosquera also scored an own goal in the game’s dying embers, which saw Wolves make the long trip back to the Midlands empty-handed. As a result of their win, as well as Manchester City’s 3-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace<\/a> on Sunday, Arsenal sit just two points clear of Pep Guardiola’s<\/a> Cityzens at the top of the Premier League<\/a> table.<\/p>\n

However, if the predictions made by Aceodds<\/a>‘ supercomputer, BETSiE, ring true, that gap will widen ever so slightly come the end of the current campaign. According to the number-crunching piece of software, Arsenal will finish their season with 81 points, and have been handed a 67.7% chance of winning the league.<\/p>\n

If correct, it would see the North London outfit clinch their first league title in over two decades – their last coming in the form of Arsene Wenger’s remarkable 2003\/04 ‘Invincibles’ campaign. BETSiE also believes that City<\/a> will accrue 77 points (76.7 rounded up) for their efforts this season, with their probability of winning the league standing at just 28.5%.<\/p>\n

It will come as a tough pill to swallow for Guardiola if correct, considering the Spaniard demands excellence from his side, having clinched six top flight titles, nine domestic cups and a Champions League<\/a> during his nine-year tenure to date.<\/p>\n

Despite a mix-bag of results this term after a summer of spending, defending champions Liverpool<\/a> are predicted to finish third in the league by BETSiE come the end of the season, with a total of 67 points (67.3 rounded down). It’s a stark contrast to the position that Arne Slot<\/a> currently finds his team in, given they sit seventh in the standings as a result of eight wins, two draws and six losses.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim’s<\/a> Manchester United<\/a>, meanwhile, are predicted to miss out on automatic Champions League qualification for 2026\/27 if the software is accurate. BETSiE currently has the Red Devils down to finish fifth in the Premier League a point clear of a high-flying Aston Villa<\/a>; again, a polar opposite state of affairs to last season’s lacklustre 15th place end to the season.<\/p>\n

    To come to the predictions, BETSiE simulated the league seasons 100,000 times. The supercomputer takes into account all match results from this pre-season and the current season, projecting the the season based on both pre-season expectations, fixture difficulty and xG earned both for and against during the season.<\/p>\n

    It now also integrates team financial data and player values from Transfermarkt. This additional layer of data provides a more nuanced understanding of team capabilities and potential performance variations.<\/p>\n
