After 23 years of service, the Jacksonville Chapter of M.A.D. DA.D.S. announced Monday that the organization will be shutting down.<\/p>\n

M.A.D. D.A.D.S. says that the decision came from a vote by the organization’s Board of Directors, who cite an “intentional decision to step back and allow emerging organizations and new leadership to rise and meet the growing needs of the community.”<\/p>\n

“While the Jacksonville Chapter is closing, the heart of service remains,” M.A.D. D.A.D.S. officials said. “M.A.D. D.A.D.S. Jacksonville continues to care deeply for the community it has served and is grateful for the relationships, partnerships, and lives impacted over the past two decades.”<\/p>\n

The organization also states that Chapter President Donald Foy has resigned due to “health-related conditions.”<\/p>\n

“Over the upcoming weeks there will be changes, but we\u2019re here and we\u2019re still committed to the families we serve,” said M.A.D. D.A.D.S. Outreach Coordinator AJ Jordan.<\/p>\n

The dissolution of the Jacksonville Chapter will take effect on Wednesday, Dec. 31.<\/p>\n
