{"id":45434,"date":"2025-07-07T07:45:36","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T07:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/45434\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T07:45:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T07:45:36","slug":"murder-probe-launched-into-body-found-during-brian-tarrence-search","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/45434\/","title":{"rendered":"Murder probe launched into body found during Brian Tarrence search"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cops on a Caribbean island where a Manhattan man disappeared during a romantic getaway with his wife have launched a murder probe <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/05\/us-news\/body-found-in-search-for-brian-tarrence-in-turks-and-caicos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">into a decomposed body<\/a> suspected of being the missing man.<\/p>\n<p>The Turks and Caicos Island police force said on Facebook Sunday that the grisly discovery on Saturday \u2014 less than two weeks after New Yorker Brian Tarrence went missing from a local Airbnb \u2014 is now a \u201csuspected homicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New Yorker Brian Tarrence went missing while on vacation with his wife in Turks and Caicos.<\/p>\n<p>Tarrance was last seen leaving his AirBnb in Providenciales around 3 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have yet to officially identify the body.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEfforts are underway to confirm the identity of the deceased,\u201d police said online. \u201cOnce an identification has been made, the next of kin will be notified in accordance with standard procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tarrence, 51, arrived on the British territory on June 25 with his wife to celebrate their one-year anniversary but he <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/02\/us-news\/new-yorker-brian-tarrence-goes-missing-while-on-romantic-vacation-in-turks-and-caicos-with-wife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vanished three days later<\/a>, wandering off around 3:30 a.m. while his wife slept.<\/p>\n<p>Carl DeFazio, an ex-NYPD cop hired to investigate the disappearance, said last week that Turks and Caicos officials were doing all they could to locate Tarrence, a vice president with Diligent Software in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Police have launched a homicide investigation into the body found while searching for Tarrence.
