\n\tLudwig G\u00f6ransson and Stephen Schwartz lead the nominees for the 2026 Society of Composers and Lyricists<\/a> Awards<\/a> this year, the organization announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tG\u00f6ransson earned three nominations for his work on Sinners<\/a>, including a nomination for outstanding score for a studio film as well as two for outstanding original song for a dramatic or documentary visual media production with \u201cI Lied to You\u201d (co-written with Raphael Saadiq) and \u201cLast Time (I Seen the Sun),\u201d which he co-wrote with Alice Smith and Miles Caton. Schwartz got three nominations as well for Wicked<\/a>: For Good, as he got the best score nomination alongside John Powell, and new songs \u201cNo Place Like Home\u201d and \u201cThe Girl in the Bubble\u201d were nominated for outstanding original song for a comedy or musical visual media production.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year marks the seventh annual SCL awards since the organization first established the honors back in 2020. The awards themselves will be hosted Feb. 6, 2026 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles with Kevin and Michael Bacon, who have their band The Bacon Brothers, hosting the ceremony.<\/p>\n

\n\tG\u00f6ransson and Sinners director Ryan Coogler will also receive the SCL\u2019s Spirit of Collaboration award, an honor previously given to composers and directors including Martin Scorsese, Robbie Robertson, Thomas Newman, Sam Mendes, Terence Blanchard and Spike Lee, to name a few.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmong the other nominees are Ed Sheeran<\/a>, Blake Slatkin and John Mayer for the F1 track \u201cDrive\u201d; Ejae and Mark Sonnenblick for KPop Demon Hunters smash \u201cGolden\u201d\u2018 Jack Black for viral Minecraft Movie song \u201cSteve\u2019s Lava Chicken; and Bryce Dessner for his Train Dreams score.<\/a> Diane Warren continues her streak of receiving an SCL nomination every year since the awards were established, this year for her song \u201cDear Me\u201d for the Masterclass doc Diane Warren: Relentless.<\/p>\n

\n\tAll of the SCL\u2019s original score nominees were named to the shortlist<\/a> for the original score Oscar this week, as were most of the songs for the original song categories.<\/p>\n
