(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsfa.com\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"http:\/\/www.wsfa.com\">WSFA<\/a>) &#8211; A 26-year-old Dallas County man is in custody facing multiple sex-related charges involving a child younger than 12, according to the Dallas County Sheriff\u2019s Department and the 4th Judicial Circuit District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Ty\u2019 Tarvious Carmichael\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/PY3SLSVPSFHBREOOZAENX3B3KI.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"550\" \/>Ty\u2019 Tarvious Carmichael(Dallas County Sheriff&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators say the alleged incident was reported by the child to an adult. District Attorney Robert Turner Jr. said cases like this can go unreported, which is why he encourages families to have ongoing conversations with children about safe and unsafe contact and to foster an environment where kids feel comfortable speaking up.<\/p>\n<p>What officials say happened<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to court documents, the alleged incident occurred in Selma in October. Authorities say the child reported inappropriate touching and later disclosed the allegation to an adult.<\/p>\n<p>Charges filed<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The suspect \u2014 identified as Ty\u2019 Tarvious Carmichael \u2014 is charged with:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Enticing a child for immoral purposes<\/li>\n<li>Sexual abuse of a child under 12<\/li>\n<li>First-degree rape<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Turner said prosecutors plan to argue against bond during an upcoming pre-trial detention hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Bond status and court date<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials say Carmichael is currently being held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19.<\/p>\n<p>Why the arrest may take time<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">WSFA 12 News asked why the arrest did not happen immediately after the reported incident.
