He needs to play two more seasons before he&#8217;s an unrestricted free agent.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcs888ac000v357sdd4vw1ol@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Byram can still be traded or the two sides could agree to a contract before the hearing.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcrvjrtv002d357sgqhftj56@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Newly acquired defenseman Conor Timmins did elected to go to arbitration. Last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs the 26-year-old\u2019s cap hit was $1.1 million.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcs7x3cc000d357syjcia7u9@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Just because Timmins elected to go to arbitration, doesn&#8217;t mean he can&#8217;t come to terms with the Sabres before his hearing which hasn&#8217;t been scheduled yet.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"www.audacy.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcrvjs0m002f357spycz93b8@published\" data-editable=\"text\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--station\">Timmons is slotted to take Connor Clifton\u2019s spot at right defense on the third pair.
