{"id":45731,"date":"2025-07-07T10:24:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T10:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/45731\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T10:24:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T10:24:17","slug":"aryna-sabalenka-admits-shes-copied-one-shot-directly-from-novak-djokovic-and-its-really-helping-her","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/45731\/","title":{"rendered":"Aryna Sabalenka admits she&#8217;s copied one shot directly from Novak Djokovic and it&#8217;s really helping her"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Aryna Sabalenka had continued her flawless run at Wimbledon after a straight sets win over Elise Mertens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/aryna-sabalenka-gives-her-honest-opinion-on-elise-mertens-as-a-player-and-person-after-knocking-her-out-of-wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka praised Mertens<\/a> after knocking her out of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a>, having won their round of 16 meeting 6-4, 7-6(7-4).<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTA<\/a> number one has yet to drop a set at the Grand Slam this year, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka<\/a> representing the top seed at SW19.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/sam-querrey-names-the-wta-player-he-thinks-is-the-second-favourite-to-win-wimbledon-now-behind-aryna-sabalenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka has been backed to win Wimbledon<\/a>, where she has never made it beyond the semi-finals stage. <\/p>\n<p>The Belarusian made it that far in both 2021 and 2023, having reached the finals of the three other Grand Slams.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2223822350-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Aryna Sabalenka and Elise Mertens embrace at the net at Wimbledon 2025\" class=\"wp-image-108860\" \/>Photo by Visionhaus via Getty ImagesThe shot Aryna Sabalenka admits she has directly copied from Novak Djokovic<\/p>\n<p>And she has now revealed receiving help from another star of the game, having been asked in her latest press conference which players she has come across that she thinks have the most insight and knowledge into the sport.<\/p>\n<p>After deep thought, she replied: \u201cHmm, trying to think right now. One of the conversations went to managing energy, another one about the mental part of the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen we had another conversation about mentally approaching those big finals. So yeah, I think mostly we\u2019re talking about the mental part of the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd also one time he really helped me with the return. Now he\u2019s like always making fun of me copying his return.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I\u2019m like, \u2018Man, it\u2019s working\u2019. I mean I\u2019m copying the best.
