JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 Jacksonville and surrounding communities are facing another round of summer heat and sticky humidity. <\/p>\n

Temperatures are expected to remain in the low 90s through at least the next seven days, with humidity creating uncomfortable conditions that can feel even hotter. <\/p>\n

Overnight lows are likely to only drop to the mid-70s, bringing little relief from the muggy weather.<\/p>\n

High temperatures in Jacksonville will be around 92 degrees with highs around 89 to 90 degrees in Ponte Vedra, and similar readings across Palatka, Middleburg and Keystone Heights.<\/p>\n

The Weather Authority cautions that this pattern is expected to continue, with rapid warming through the morning hours and little change to humid, steamy conditions.<\/p>\n

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms likely<\/b><\/p>\n

A key concern in this week\u2019s forecast is the likelihood of pop-up rain showers and thunderstorms each afternoon\u2014especially after 1 to 2 p.m. <\/p>\n

These showers become more likely as daytime heat builds.<\/p>\n

Rain chances increase to 40% by 2 p.m. and 60% by 3 p.m. <\/p>\n

While early-week showers are expected to be generally light, the chance for heavier rainfall is likely to increase mid-week as high pressure shifts and more moisture moves into the region.<\/p>\n

The Weather Authority expects the trend of daily afternoon storms to stick around for at least the next seven days, but exact locations for the heaviest downpours remain uncertain.<\/p>\n

Beach and outdoor safety tips<\/b><\/p>\n

With extended heat persisting, families and beachgoers are reminded to take extra precautions. <\/p>\n

The Exact Track 4D beach forecast points to air temperatures around 89 degrees and water temperatures near 80 degrees, alongside a high UV index. <\/p>\n

A moderate risk for rip currents is flagged along the coastline, so swimmers should be cautious and prepared.<\/p>\n

Anyone heading outside, especially with children, is advised to go early and bring water, sunscreen, and shade. <\/p>\n

For families headed to local playgrounds, midday storms and peak heat are likely, so outdoor plans are safest in the morning hours.<\/p>\n
