JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 A man was found shot late Sunday night inside his apartment in the Jacksonville Heights area of the city\u2019s Westside, police said.<\/p>\n

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office, officers were called to the Westchase Apartments on 103rd Street about a block west of Ricker Road just before 11 p.m.<\/p>\n

They found a man in his mid-30s inside his apartment with a gunshot wound to his upper left chest. Police said his injury was not considered life-threatening, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

The man told police he\u2019d heard gunshots and then realized he\u2019d been hit. He could not identify the shooter. <\/p>\n

Police found multiple groups of shell casings around the apartment complex.<\/p>\n
