A man was stabbed in the back by a stranger while waiting for a subway on NYC\u2019s Upper West Side \u2014 the second person attacked from behind with a blade in the city\u2019s subway system this month, police said Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old was on the northbound No. 1 platform at 96th and Broadway around 7 p.m. Friday when he had an argument with another rider, according to police sources.<\/p>\n
The assailant then plunged the blade into his back, cops said.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to Mt. Sinai-Morningside Hospital in stable condition and was expected to survive, cops said.<\/p>\n
The suspect was described as a light-skinned male with a slim build who fled to the street level, the sources said.<\/p>\n
The nature of the dispute wasn\u2019t immediately known. Cops recovered the knife on the scene.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, a 45-year-old man was\u00a0stabbed in the back during a morning rush-hour clash inside the Union Square subway station,\u00a0cops said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The victim was on the\u00a0L train platform at the 14th Street-Union Square hub around 10 a.m. when he was knifed in the back during a dispute, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, police said.\u00a0The male attacker fled the scene and there were no arrests, cops said.<\/p>\n
