Spider-Man: No Way Home got the ball rolling with the inclusion of Charlie Cox&#8217;s Matt Murdock as Peter Parker&#8217;s lawyer. The integration continued with Disney+&#8217;s\u00a0Daredevil: Born Again. The series established the Netflix universe as MCU\u00a0canon, and featured Jon Bernthal&#8217;s comeback as Frank Castle. Now, Krysten Ritter will be returning as Jessica Jones in Season 2 of the Man Without Fear&#8217;s standalone show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite that, there are still two major missing characters from the Defenders saga in the current MCU: Mike Colter&#8217;s Luke Cage and Finn Jones&#8217; Iron Fist. The former was actually referenced in Born Again, with an advertisement for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/tv\/marvel\/daredevil\/daredevil-born-again-trailer-features-the-mcus-first-nod-to-luke-cage-a215649\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Harlem&#8217;s Paradise being featured<\/strong><\/a> in a scene. Even with that, however, Colter&#8217;s return has remained uncertain. Now, the actor has sparked speculation he may be in line to make his way into the MCU with a cryptic social media comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Krysten Ritter recently posted an image of herself as Jessica Jones alongside Charlie Cox&#8217;s Daredevil from Born Again&#8217;s second season:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSaow0bEkxL\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"><p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Colter commented on the post with an &#8220;eyes&#8221; emoji:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imgbox.com\/pghwsjeb\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"image host\" class=\"lazyload blur-up\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/pghwsjeb_t.jpeg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The interaction was quickly flooded with responses from fans, expressing their excitement about seeing the actor donning Cage&#8217;s signature yellow t-shirt once again. Users on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/marvelstudios\/comments\/1pqghv7\/mike_colter_comments_on_krysten_ritters_post_on\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>r\/marvelstudios subreddit<\/strong><\/a> also shared their hopes\u00a0of seeing Colter\u00a0back in the role.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that in August 2025, scoopers Daniel Richtman and MyTimeToShineHello <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/tv\/marvel\/luke-cage\/rumor-mike-colter-set-to-return-as-luke-cage---but-will-we-see-him-in-daredevil-born-again-season-2-a223559\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>both stated<\/strong><\/a> Mike Colter will be the MCU&#8217;s Luke Cage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Now the MCU&#8217;s Luke Cage <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PXvnxjNcH0\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/PXvnxjNcH0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2014 Daniel Richtman (@DanielRPK) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DanielRPK\/status\/1960984004489789705?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">August 28, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>While a rumor, Colter himself has spoken about coming back as Cage a few times in the past. Talking to <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/tv\/marvel\/luke-cage\/luke-cage-star-mike-colter-appears-to-have-changed-his-mind-about-a-possible-marvel-return-a212647\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Comicbook.com<\/strong><\/a> in 2024, for example, the actor was asked if he&#8217;d like to play the character again, to which he stated:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I would love to explore it, if they found some story, some way, somewhere, to take it. And I&#8217;m happy that Charlie Cox and those are getting it rebooted, but I don&#8217;t have any [idea if Luke Cage is getting rebooted]. I&#8217;m not holding anything back.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at Indiana Comic Con\u00a0in early 2025 (via <a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/luke-cage-mike-colter-return\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Collider<\/strong><\/a>), Colter stated that, though he didn&#8217;t think about it anymore, he still had hopes of embodying the invulnerable hero once again:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I still have hopes for it. I don&#8217;t think about it anymore. I think there&#8217;s always time. I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s impossible. Anything can happen.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then, during an appearance at Edmonton Expo in\u00a0September 2025, Colter offered <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/tv\/marvel\/daredevil\/luke-cage-star-mike-colter-drops-his-biggest-hint-yet-about-power-man-return-in-daredevil-born-again-a223936\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>perhaps the biggest hint so far<\/strong><\/a> that fans\u00a0would indeed see more from his Power Man in live-action:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know why people keep asking me this. There are no signs.
