While the Chicago Sky have struggled to start their season, star center Angel Reese continues to put up strong stat lines en route to being named an All-Star reserve for the WNBA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite suffering a 12th loss of the campaign to the league-leading Minnesota<\/a> Lynx on Sunday, Reese still contributed heavily with a 16 point, 17 rebound double-double on a 43.8 percent shooting line as well as six assists.<\/p>\n

Even though she set a record for having the longest streak of consecutive games with 15 rebounds or more (her fifth in a row), the biggest takeaway from the defeat seemed to be Reese’s interactions with officials.<\/p>\n

Reese was getting battered in the paint and took out some of her frustration on officials – who only gave the Sky eight free throws. Seven of those eight free throws came in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n

After the contest ended, Reese addressed her anger with the lack of calls from officials: ‘I think we fought really hard.<\/p>\n

‘It’s tough when you talk to officials and I asked them ‘hey we only shot two free-throws, we’ve only been to the free-throw line twice up until the fourth quarter’ and she tells me it’s not her job.<\/p>\n

MVP front-runner Napheesa Collier (24) scored 21 points and seven rebounds<\/p>\n

‘So I know it’s frustrating because I know how hard we are battling inside [the paint].<\/p>\n

‘I think we came down and fought as hard as we could with what we had. I just know that we’ll continue to grow on this and I think this is a leaping step up for us.<\/p>\n

‘Obviously we know we can compete with the best, but that has to be fixed. I don’t give a damn if I get fined because that s***’s cheap and I am tired of this s***.<\/p>\n

‘I’ve been nice and I’ve been humble with it but I am tired of this s***.’<\/p>\n

The criticism didn’t stop there. Reese also went on her social media accounts after the game to post an image of her being grabbed around the waist and competing with two defenders with a single-worded caption: ‘diabolical’.<\/p>\n

Her social media criticism continued when a tweet cited her postgame comments. Reese responded to that tweet featuring her comments about not ‘giving a damn’ about being fined, saying, ‘idgaf. DO BETTER,’ while tagging the official WNBA account.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While the Sky ended the game with eight free throws, Minnesota shot 17 free throws on the night.\u00a0Seven of those 17 attempts were taken by MVP front-runner Napheesa Collier. Collier finished with 21 points and seven rebounds.<\/p>\n

Chicago has five games remaining until the All-Star break. Their next contest is Tuesday night on the road against the Washington Mystics.<\/p>\n
