he’s now moved towards an experienced new caddie ahead of The Open.

Morikawa is without a win since the ZOZO in 2023 and despite coming close at the Arnold Palmer this year, he’s not managed to get over the line.

The American is a lock for the Ryder Cup due to his form overall but he’s desperate to get the monkey off his back before September’s event.

<a href="https://www.thegolfinggazette.com/news/collin-morikawa-responds-when-asked-what-hes-looking-for-in-his-next-caddie-after-joe-greiner-split/" target="_blank" though, Morikawa has rolled the dice again and moved to bring in the experienced and major winning caddie, <a href="https://www.thegolfinggazette.com/tag/billy-foster/" target="_blank" the game but in the current era, few are more experienced than Billy Foster.

The Yorkshireman has been out of work though since Matt Fitzpatrick parted ways with him a few months back but as expected, it was never going to be too long before he found work again.

Confirmed in an exclusive report by Bunkered, Foster will team up with Morikawa at this weekend’s Scottish Open before going on to work together at Royal Portrush for The Open the following week.

Foster – now in his 60s – admitted at the start of the year that he planned to scale back his time on the golf course.

However, it seems the idea of being the man to get Morikawa back to winning ways is too tempting and he’ll return to the bag in Scotland.

Billy Foster’s biggest wins as a PGA Tour caddie

It goes without saying that winning the US Open with Matt Fitzpatrick was one of the most memorable experiences for Foster but he’s been around the block enough to have other big wins as well.

Foster has won more than 40 tournaments over his career, been part of 15 different Ryder Cup events, and has that major to his name with Fitzpatrick.

Foster worked with some of the best in the business such as Seve Ballesteros and Lee Westwood but it wasn’t until he won with ‘Fitz’ that he got his major win.

With such a talented player in Collin Morikawa to now sink his teeth into, it will be interesting to see if Foster can rekindle some magic and get the American motoring again.

Collin Morikawa’s quest for a return to winning ways has taken yet another turn as
