Prominent Barrie businessman and philanthropist Paul Sadlon Sr. has died. He was 93.<\/p>\n
His passing was announced prior to tonight\u2019s Ontario Hockey League game between the Barrie Colts and the London Knights.<\/p>\n
According to people in attendance at Sadlon Arena, the sports facility which bears his name, Sadlon\u2019s death was announced on the scoreboard and to the crowd, followed by a moment of silence.<\/p>\n

The former Barrie Molson Centre was renamed Sadlon Arena after city council approved a 10-year naming rights agreement worth over $1.7 million.<\/p>\n
Sadlon and his family were \u201can integral part\u201d of bringing the Sadlon Centre for Health, Wellness and Sciences to fruition at Georgian College, through their $2-million donation in 2011, according to the school at the time.<\/p>\n
