{"id":461761,"date":"2025-12-21T07:36:04","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T07:36:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/461761\/"},"modified":"2025-12-21T07:36:04","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T07:36:04","slug":"exclusive-giuliani-warns-mamdani-could-be-most-dangerous-nyc-mayor-if-he-stops-sweeps-of-homeless-camps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/461761\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive | Giuliani warns Mamdani could be &#8216;most dangerous&#8217; NYC mayor if he stops sweeps of homeless camps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Big Apple \u201cwill be a disaster\u201d under Zohran Mamdani, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani believes \u2014 because the socialist mayor-elect fundamentally misunderstands the homeless problem.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani\u2019s pledge to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/05\/us-news\/zohran-mamdani-ripped-by-john-chell-over-ending-nyc-homeless-encampment-sweeps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">end sweeps of homeless camps<\/a> will create a \u201cticking time bomb,\u201d Giuliani proclaimed, noting many on the streets are \u201cparanoid\u00a0schizophrenics\u201d who tend to get \u201cmuch worse\u201d and even \u201cviolent\u201d in isolation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thing paranoid schizophrenics need is contact,\u201d he told The Post this week. <\/p>\n<p>Former NYC Mayor Rudy\u00a0Giuliani\u00a0predicts\u00a0the Big Apple \u201cwill be a disaster\u201d under Zohran Mamdani because he believes the socialist mayor-elect fundamentally misunderstands the homeless problem. William Farrington<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe therapy . . . is constant talking, constant bringing them out. So think about it, the\u00a0more\u00a0they go inward that\u2019s how they go from being a relatively safe person that first goes into homelessness to a killer five weeks later, five months later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo he is going to produce . . . possibly the most dangerous thing a New York mayor has ever done,\u201d predicted Giuliani, adding he fears dark days ahead for the city not seen since the crime-ravaged <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/07\/06\/mayor-de-blasio-do-something-about-the-deaths-in-our-streets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">early 1990s under Mayor David Dinkins.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/11\/23\/david-dinkins-nycs-first-black-mayor-dead-at-93\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The late Dinkins,<\/a> like Mamdani, was a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America.<\/p>\n<p>An August <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ap.org\/news-highlights\/spotlights\/2025\/most-us-adults-think-individual-choices-keep-people-in-poverty-a-new-ap-norc-harris-poll-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP-NORC\/Harris poll found<\/a> 43% of Americans favor clearing homeless encampments compared to 25% who don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Cities can enforce bans on people sleeping outside in public places, according to a 2024\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/supreme-court-homeless-camping-bans-506ac68dc069e3bf456c10fcedfa6bee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. Supreme Court <\/a>decision.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/12\/opinion\/democrats-divide-on-homelessness-public-safety-vs-radical-folly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Even lefties<\/a> like California\u2019s Gov. Gavin Newsom and Boston\u2019s Mayor Michelle Wu\u00a0have implemented policies resulting in the clearing of homeless encampments in their states.<\/p>\n<p>Mayore-elect Zohran Mamdani has pledged to have NYC stop clearing out homeless encampments. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani\u00a0praised outgoing Mayor Adams, saying the moderate Democrat inherited a disaster from his far-left predecessor, Mayor Bill de Blasio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdams has done a pretty good job,\u201d said\u00a0Giuliani, adding\u00a0he\u2019s got the city at least \u201chalfway back,\u201d in\u00a0terms of public safety, to how it was under him and ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is\u00a0not bad when you consider he\u2019s got a City Council that should be in Red China,\u201d quipped\u00a0Giuliani.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He also praised Mamdani\u2019s decision to keep Adams appointee Jessica Tisch as NYPD commissioner \u2014 though Giuliani questioned how long the relationship will last. <\/p>\n<p>A vagrant begs for money in Washington Square Park in the West Village in Manhattan. Helayne Seidman<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani is under too much pressure from the DSA and other far-left factions to push a soft-on-crime agenda, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven if he wants to be reasonable \u2014 which I am not sure he does \u2014 they are going to bang him,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani currently resides in Palm Beach, Fla., but he said he regularly visits the Big Apple, including two weeks ago to take in the opera.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt still looks pretty good,\u201d he said. \u201cAdams did some good things, you know?<\/p>\n<p>A barefoot, shirtless, homeless man walks through Washington Square Park.
