Emma Raducanu<\/a> will lose a huge amount of her Wimbledon<\/a> prize money after raking in six figures at SW19.<\/p>\n

She earned \u00a3152,000 for reaching the third round, where she was dumped out by Aryna Sabalenka.<\/p>\n

However, nearly half of that figure will be taken away by the taxman.<\/p>\n

Paul Barham, tax partner at Forvis Mazars, told Express Sport<\/a>: “The tax rate that will apply to the prize money will be 45 per cent resulting in a UK tax liability of \u00a368,400.<\/p>\n

“Assuming Emma is resident in the UK, she is also likely to have Class Four National Insurance to pay at two per cent on this income resulting in a National Insurance liability of \u00a33,040.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, her take home pay after tax and NIC would be \u00a380,560.<\/p>\n

“These figures represent the liabilities before taking into account any deductible expenses such as travel and accommodation costs and coaching fees.<\/p>\n
