Last year, more than 40,000 people attended the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s celebration is expanding and will run from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year the goal is to make it bigger and better,\u201d said Sundance Square Music Director Gregory Newman. \u201cJust like our Christmas tree somehow manages to get taller every single year, this New Year\u2019s celebration is having more bands on the program than we\u2019ve had in past years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musical performances will include Quimikoz del Son, Big City Outlaws, Fusion Latina, Tonya Boyd Cannon and DJ Danny West.<\/p>\n<p>At midnight, fireworks will launch from the Westbrook building, and the plaza will be the best place to view the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou really have to be here to believe it.
