{"id":463717,"date":"2025-12-22T05:34:14","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T05:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/463717\/"},"modified":"2025-12-22T05:34:14","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T05:34:14","slug":"early-holiday-travel-at-phoenix-sky-harbor-smoother-than-expected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/463717\/","title":{"rendered":"Early holiday travel at Phoenix Sky Harbor smoother than expected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 Holiday travelers at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyharbor.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.skyharbor.com\/\">Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport<\/a> this weekend found smoother conditions than expected as the busy Christmas travel season began.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHonestly not bad,\u201d said one traveler arriving from Colorado. \u201cIt\u2019s actually been surprisingly well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Another passenger expressed similar surprise at the manageable crowds. \u201cI\u2019m surprised it\u2019s less busy than I expected but I\u2019ve never been here at Christmas time but I thought it would be very, very busy,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The pleasant conditions come as <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.aaa.com\/2025\/12\/aaa-year-end-holiday-travel-forecast\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/newsroom.aaa.com\/2025\/12\/aaa-year-end-holiday-travel-forecast\/\">AAA anticipates a busy holiday travel rush with 8 million people expected to fly domestically<\/a>. According to AAA, that number would be a record-breaking figure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sunday\u2019s travelers were grateful they avoided the worst of the rush. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s nice that there is a couple days leading up to Christmas. I feel a lot of people flying in this weekend, but they\u2019re probably a lot of people coming in on the 23rd and pushing that into the week. So hopefully that means it\u2019s a little spread out and less crazy,\u201d said Jade Iseri-Ramos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Some flights in northern states were grounded for a couple of hours due to cold, snow and windy conditions.
