A man was hospitalized Sunday after being struck by deputy gunfire in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Avocado Heights.<\/p>\n
The man was shot around 5:50 p.m. near a Jack in the Box restaurant along Workman Mill Road, according to the LA County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies rendered aid to the man before he was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.<\/p>\n
Details on what led up to the shooting were not immediately available. It’s unclear what prompted the gunfire.<\/p>\n
NewsChopper4 was over the scene of the shooting, which showed investigators looking at several gunshot holes in the exterior of the fast food restaurant.<\/p>\n
No deputies were injured in the shooting.<\/p>\n
