A Lewisville firefighter and father of three was killed Thursday night in an off-duty motorcycle crash in Fort Worth, according to department officials.<\/p>\n
Lewisville Fire Department confirmed that Michael Swope, who had served with the department since 2019, died following the crash. Swope was a paramedic and field training officer and was remembered by colleagues as a dedicated public servant and a man of strong faith.<\/p>\n
According to Fort Worth Police Department, Swope was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle struck a guardrail, throwing him from the bike. He later died from his injuries. The department\u2019s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.<\/p>\n
In a statement posted Friday, the Lewisville Fire Department described Swope as \u201ca pillar of professionalism and a kind soul,\u201d adding that beyond his work as a paramedic and trainer, he was \u201ca devoted, caring husband and a father to three beautiful children.\u201d<\/p>\n
The department also noted Swope\u2019s Christian faith, calling him \u201ca follower of Christ who loved the Lord,\u201d and said its thoughts and prayers are with his family during what it described as an \u201cunimaginably difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Lewisville Police Department and the Lewisville Fire Fighters Association also issued public tributes, remembering Swope for his sense of humor, his concern for fellow firefighters, and his devotion to his family.<\/p>\n
