{"id":463963,"date":"2025-12-22T08:18:35","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T08:18:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/463963\/"},"modified":"2025-12-22T08:18:35","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T08:18:35","slug":"pedestrian-dies-after-getting-hit-by-car-in-downtown-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/463963\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies after getting hit by car in downtown Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2013 A pedestrian died after getting hit by a vehicle in downtown Phoenix on Tuesday night, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>William Sinclair, 84, was inside a crosswalk near <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/grvqkDBKo7Dd7eu47\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seventh Avenue and Fillmore Street<\/a> when he was hit, according to the Phoenix Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>He was suffering from serious injuries when officers arrived at the scene around 10:40 p.m. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary information indicates that Mr. Sinclair was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a car traveling northbound,\u201d Sgt. Jen Zak said in a media advisory.<\/p>\n<p>Police said impairment is not believed to be a factor with the driver, and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>No other details were made available.
