Houston<\/strong> \u2013 A 3-year-old is the sole survivor of a family of four in a fatal crash in which Fort Bend Sheriff\u2019s deputies say a wrong-way driver caused on Grand Parkway this weekend.<\/p>\n

A Houston man who lost his brother to a wrong-way crash earlier this year spoke to KPRC 2 about what he says is a growing problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s happening too often,\u201d said Brian Allen.<\/p>\n

Allen lost his older brother, 66-year-old Anthony Allen, to a wrong-way crash on the South Loop near Wayside Drive in April.<\/p>\n

In the aftermath, he created a movement called \u201cSpikes for Anthony\u201d to create awareness of wrong-way crashes.<\/p>\n

According to their website, there have been 56 fatal wrong-way crashes in Houston since 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese accidents are happening more and more, and I hate that we aren\u2019t putting things in place to try to prevent them,” said Allen.<\/p>\n

Allen said his brother was the second of seven children and was an engineer who was about to retire this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest pushback that I\u2019ve seen so far is funding,” said Allen. <\/p>\n

Some possible solutions Allen is proposing to prevent wrong-way crashes include spike strips on the roads, wrong-way flashing alert systems, or camera systems alerting first responders that a driver is going the wrong way.<\/p>\n

Allen tells KPRC 2 his goal is to prevent another tragedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want any other family to go through this because, as I said, my brother was a great guy,” said Allen.<\/p>\n
