Victor Wembanyama keeps writing his name next to basketball royalty by breaking record after record of the NBA playbook. But matching a stat line only Michael Jordan himself achieved through 135 NBA games is sensational, and Wembanyama did that in style with the victory against the Washington Wizards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Quite frankly, the majority of the players would need a career to rack up numbers like this. But the San Antonio Spurs<\/a> forward did it before his 22nd birthday.<\/p>\n

Victor Wembanyama crushes record while matching Michael Jordan’s milestone<\/p>\n

The Spurs’ 7’4″ phenom became just the third player in NBA history to record a block in 100 straight games against the Atlanta Hawks<\/a> this Friday. But nobody expected him to extend that wild streak in Spurs’ very next game against Wizards.<\/p>\n

He hit a total of 500 career assists Sunday night after passing a ball to De\u2019Aaron Fox for a layup score in the early minutes of the second quarter. Right after the easy assist, he’s now one of just two players ever to post 3,000+ points, 500+ assists, and 100+ blocks in their first 135 games.<\/p>\n

The first player to set the record was Michael Jordan. Now, it\u2019s just Wembanyama and the NBA GOAT sharing that terrific spot in the record books.<\/p>\n

However, in terms of block number, the French star shattered MJ’s record. According to the report<\/a>, MJ blocked 140 times in 135 games, but Wembanyama blocked three times (482) more than him at just 21.<\/p>\n

No one has started their career with this combination of scoring, court vision, and rim protection. Jordan did score in bunches and played suffocating defense, but Wemby does all that and erases everything at the rim. With the Spurs at 21-7, he\u2019s averaging 3.6 blocks per game — historic for a player in only his second pro season.<\/p>\n

However, Wemby is now only focused on winning games, rather than chasing personal records. Still, his achievements are stacking up, putting him alongside the all-time greats whether he notices or not.<\/p>\n
