Moses, the main partner in hospitality company Pouring With Heart, also <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2024\/6\/20\/24182612\/the-varnish-bar-speakeasy-closing-los-angeles-cocktail-bar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">closed iconic cocktail bar the Varnish in 2024,<\/a> a speakeasy hidden inside of a former back storage room of Cole\u2019s. <\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">\u201cMany historical independent restaurants are struggling under the weight of these issues and have already closed, while those remaining are fighting to survive,\u201d Moses said in an emailed statement to Eater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Moses thanks the community and Cole\u2019s workers in his statement: \u201cWe have cherished our time serving the Downtown community, and will continue to craft great drinks and our renowned French dip sandwiches until we shutter. We care deeply about our family of staff and are immensely grateful for our amazing guests who have supported Cole\u2019s over the years. We invite you to come in and see us this month before our departure, to laugh, to cry, to raise glasses, to eat, and to say your goodbyes right alongside us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">Moses and his group Pouring With Heart continue to operate numerous nightlife locations in Downtown, including Las Perlas across the street from Cole\u2019s, as well as Tony\u2019s Saloon in the Arts District.
