{"id":466158,"date":"2025-12-23T07:51:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T07:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/466158\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T07:51:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T07:51:17","slug":"innospaces-rocket-crashes-in-first-commercial-launch-in-brazil-shares-tumble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/466158\/","title":{"rendered":"Innospace&#8217;s rocket crashes in first commercial launch in Brazil; shares tumble"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">Dec 23 (Reuters) &#8211; South Korean satellite launch company Innospace on Monday launched the first commercial rocket from Brazil&#8217;s Alcantara Space Center, \u200ba milestone for the firm and Brazilian aerospace ambitions that \u200cended with a crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">The HANBIT-Nano vehicle lifted off at 10:13 p.m. Brazil time (0113 GMT), \u200cfive days later than originally scheduled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">Just two minutes after the launch, a <a href=\"https:\/\/tech.yahoo.com\/streaming\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:live feed;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">live feed<\/a> within the official livestream showed a message noting an &#8220;anomaly&#8221; was experienced during the flight. The livestream ended immediately afterward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">According to Brazil&#8217;s air force, \u2060the rocket began its vertical \u200ctrajectory as planned, but an issue prompted a crash into the ground. Officials and firefighters were sent to \u200danalyse the wreckage and the collision area, the air force added in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">Innospace has not provided further information about the launch and did not immediately respond \u200bto a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">The firm&#8217;s South Korea-listed shares fell about \u200c24% in midday trading after the crash, the biggest intraday decline since August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">The launch was delayed from Wednesday after an anomaly in a cooling unit component of the first-stage oxidizer feed system during final inspections, and again on Friday for a few hours due to unfavourable weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">In \u2060a previous statement, Innospace said it replaced \u200bthe component on the launch pad, allowing \u200bthe Spaceward mission to proceed within its December 16-22 launch window.
