{"id":466300,"date":"2025-12-23T09:29:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/466300\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T09:29:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:29:11","slug":"husband-and-5-other-men-charged-with-sex-offences-against-ex-wife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/466300\/","title":{"rendered":"Husband and 5 other men charged with sex offences against ex-wife"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">A husband and five other men charged with a string of sexual offences against his ex-wife over a 13-year period are due in court later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Philip Young, formerly of Swindon but now living in Enfield, has been charged with 56 sexual offences, including rape and administering a substance with intent to stupefy\/overpower to allow sexual activity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The 49-year-old has also been charged with voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme images.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Five other men have also been charged with offences against his ex-wife, 48-year-old Joanne Young, who has waived her right to anonymity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">All six men are due to appear at Swindon Magistrates&#8217; Court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Mr Young, whom police described as a white British national, has been remanded in custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">The five other men are on bail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">Det Supt Geoff Smith, of Wiltshire Police, described the charges as a significant update in a &#8220;complex and extensive&#8221; investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 eZyhnA\">He added that Ms Young was being supported by specially trained officers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A husband and five other men charged with a string of sexual offences against his ex-wife over a&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":466301,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[50,103],"class_list":{"0":"post-466300","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-world","8":"tag-news","9":"tag-world"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@us\/115768181654505068","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/466300","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=466300"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/466300\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/466301"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=466300"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=466300"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=466300"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
