Investors&#8217; lust of\u00a0gold\u00a0remains \u2060massive, due to a mix of all factors above,&#8221; said\u00a0Carlo Alberto De Casa, external analyst at banking group\u00a0Swissquote.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0U.S.\u00a0dollar extended losses to a second day and was on course for its biggest annual fall since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>On the geopolitical front,\u00a0U.S.\u00a0President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0last week ordered a &#8220;blockade&#8221; of all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving\u00a0Venezuela, and said he was not ruling out the possibility of war with the country.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, markets are currently pricing in two interest rate cuts for 2026 as reports of Trump naming a new\u00a0Federal Reserve\u00a0chair early next year reinforce expectations for dovish monetary policy.<\/p>\n<p>Bullion has climbed more than 70% this \u200dyear as investors seek refuge amid global tensions and lower interest rates.<\/p>\n<p>Spot \u200csilver advanced 0.7% to\u00a0$69.51\u00a0per ounce after touching a record \u2060high of\u00a0$69.98\u00a0earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The white metal has risen 142% year-to-date on supply deficits, industrial demand, and investment inflows.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both\u00a0gold\u00a0and silver continue \u200dto attract buying strength.
