Police are seeking three people after, officials say, they beat a man after he disarmed one of them during a knife-point robbery attempt that happened early Tuesday morning on the platform of a SEPTA station in Center City Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
According to police, the incident unfolded after about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday when a 50-year-old man was approached by three people on the westbound platform of a SEPTA station at the intersection of 15th and Market Street. <\/p>\n
At that time, police said, one of the three individuals produced a knife and demanded money from the victim. <\/p>\n
The man disarmed the knife-wielding attacker, but, officials said, the three individuals proceeded to punch and kick the victim after the weapon was taken. <\/p>\n
After the attack, the three escaped the scene by hopping on a westbound SEPTA train, police said.<\/p>\n
The victim has been hospitalized following the attack but, officials did not immediately detail the extent of his injuries. <\/p>\n
Police are seeking three men in this attack and no arrests have yet been announced. <\/p>\n
An investigation, officials said, is ongoing. <\/p>\n
