{"id":46713,"date":"2025-07-07T19:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T19:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/46713\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T19:13:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T19:13:08","slug":"violent-crime-in-chicago-at-least-50-people-shot-over-holiday-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/46713\/","title":{"rendered":"Violent crime in Chicago, at least 50 people shot over holiday weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(TNND) \u2014 At least<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/chicago-bloody-july-fourth-weekend-leaves-55-shot-6-dead-report\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/chicago-bloody-july-fourth-weekend-leaves-55-shot-6-dead-report\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\"> 6 were dead<\/a> and 55 were shot over the Fourth of July weekend in Chicago. <\/p>\n<p>The violence, <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7chicago.com\/amp\/post\/chicago-shootings-weekend-least-19-people-shot-2-fatally-july-4th-gun-violence-police-department-says\/16952731\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/abc7chicago.com\/amp\/post\/chicago-shootings-weekend-least-19-people-shot-2-fatally-july-4th-gun-violence-police-department-says\/16952731\/\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">reported by ABC7<\/a>, was caused by several mass and drive-by shootings in the city. <\/p>\n<p>There have been 205 homicides and 170 fatal shootings in Chicago this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicago.gov\/city\/en\/sites\/vrd\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/www.chicago.gov\/city\/en\/sites\/vrd\/home.html\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">according to city data<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The holiday weekend kicked off with a drive-by shooting that killed 14 people and wounded 4.
