PHOENIX \u2014 The Valley\u2019s unseasonably warm December continued on Tuesday as a new record high temperature was set in Phoenix for the third day in a row.<\/p>\n

The mercury hit 80 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport<\/a>, which the National Weather Service uses for the city\u2019s official measurements, at 1:34 p.m. That broke the record of 79 degrees, which was set in 1950.<\/p>\n

Additionally, record-high temperatures were recorded in Phoenix on Sunday<\/a> (81 degrees) and Monday<\/a> (83 degrees). Those temperatures broke records set in 2024 and 1917, respectively.<\/p>\n

The city also recorded new high temperatures on Dec. 14 and 15<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Will Phoenix\u2019s string of record-high temperatures end Wednesday?<\/p>\n

The Valley\u2019s recent string of high temperatures looks set to end on Wednesday, as rain<\/a> will usher in cooler temperatures.<\/p>\n

The Phoenix metro area is expected to see rainfall overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday, and high temperatures are forecast to drop into the low 70s and high 60s by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n
