Shared by retired Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda, the video captures the emotional scene as the calf runs up to a forest department vehicle, asking for help.<\/p>\n<p>The now-<a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/section\/trending\/\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viral<\/a> video begins with the baby elephant, frightened and confused, circling the vehicle frantically, sniffing and pacing, desperate to find its mother. Further, the forest team carefully guides the little elephant toward the area where its mother had last been seen. To ensure the mother recognised her calf and accepted it, one of the officials gently rubbed some of the mother elephant\u2019s dung onto the baby\u2019s trunk and legs.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"lazyloading\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"lazyloading-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/track_1x1.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/track_1x1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1px\" height=\"1px\" style=\"display:none;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Before setting off, the calf lets out a soft trumpet, as if to say thank you. As he begins walking back into the forest, one officer encourages him by saying, \u201cHaan, jaa. Jaa, jaa, jaa (Go ahead).\u201d The video ends with the baby elephant walking beside its mother.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Sharing the video, Nanda wrote, \u201cChotu got separated from mother at Kaziranga. It was united later with its mother. The forest officials applied mother\u2019s dung to the calf to suppress human smell.
