\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Keller Fire-Rescue department now has a new chief.<\/p>\n

Charlie Skaggs, who was the department\u2019s interim chief and the deputy chief before that, was officially promoted as the chief of Keller Fire-Rescue.<\/p>\n

The details<\/strong><\/p>\n

Skaggs brings 25 years of fire service experience as the new fire chief, according to a city social media<\/a> post Dec. 10. Before working in Keller, he worked at the city of McKinney for most of his career.<\/p>\n

In his time with Keller, Skaggs implemented policy improvements that have strengthened fire prevention, operational readiness and EMS services across the community, according to the social media post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m truly honored to serve as the new fire chief for the city of Keller. This department and community mean a great deal to me, and I\u2019m grateful for the opportunity to lead such a dedicated team of professionals,\u201d Skaggs said to Community Impact. \u201cTogether, we\u2019ll continue our strong commitment to safety, service and the people who make Keller such a special place to call home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Skaggs has been working as the department\u2019s interim chief since the previous chief, Bobby Tatum Jr., retired in June<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One more thing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keller Fire-Rescue\u2019s Jeff Huntley has been named the new deputy chief.<\/p>\n

Huntley has worked in the Keller community for 25 years, according to a social media<\/a> post. He is taking the position left vacant by Skaggs.<\/p>\n
