{"id":468472,"date":"2025-12-24T08:00:32","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T08:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/468472\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T08:00:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T08:00:32","slug":"jacksonville-gears-up-for-gator-bowl-traffic-plans-shuttle-options-for-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/468472\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacksonville gears up for Gator Bowl: Traffic plans, shuttle options for fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>City leaders in Jacksonville are preparing for the 2025 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, hoping to ensure safe and smooth navigation for 30,000 fans.<\/p>\n<p>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 With just days to go until kickoff, city leaders in Jacksonville are finalizing plans to handle traffic, safety, and transportation ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstcoastnews.com\/article\/news\/local\/missouri-virginia-jacksonville-2025-taxslayer-gator-bowl\/77-05e133c7-ec90-49db-85a0-2b522d9ff6d8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2025 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Missouri and the Virginia Cavaliers will face off Saturday night at EverBank Stadium, with an estimated 30,000 fans expected to attend the 81st annual game.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say their main focus is making sure fans \u2014 and nearby residents \u2014 can navigate downtown safely and efficiently throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year&#8217;s crowd was just about 30,000, so it will be around that number this year,\u201d said Greg McGarity, President and CEO of the Gator Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>To help ease congestion, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jtafla.com\/transit-services\/fixed-route-bus-service\/gameday-xpress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gameday Xpress park-and-ride shuttles<\/a> will bring fans to and from EverBank Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Fans can park and ride from two locations: the Kings Avenue Parking Garage downtown at 1201 Kings Avenue, and the JTB Park-and-Ride lot on the Southside at 7000 Phillips Highway.<\/p>\n<p>A round-trip shuttle pass costs $10 from the Kings Avenue location and $15 from the Phillips Highway lot. Tickets can be purchased through the JTA app. JTA says shuttles will run continuously beginning when gates open at 5:30 p.m. The last returning bus leaves one hour after the game ends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou do not want to risk getting stuck in traffic or lose your car, or spend time looking for your car, then consider riding with us and taking one of our game day shuttles,\u201d said Jeffery H. Smith, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for JTA.<\/p>\n<p>Game day activities will begin well before kickoff.
