{"id":46848,"date":"2025-07-07T20:24:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T20:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/46848\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T20:24:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T20:24:09","slug":"whyy-to-host-pop-up-newsroom-at-philly-city-hall-july-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/46848\/","title":{"rendered":"WHYY to host pop-up newsroom at Philly City Hall July 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Philly and the Pa. suburbs to South Jersey and Delaware, what would you like WHYY News to cover? <a href=\"#Section1\">Let us know!<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>WHYY News is hosting another \u201cpop-up\u201d newsroom, this time in Center City Philadelphia.\n<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, July 14, City Hall reporter Tom MacDonald and reporters with WHYY\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/billypenn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Billy Penn<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/programs\/planphilly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PlanPhilly<\/a> will come to the Philadelphia <a href=\"https:\/\/phlcouncil.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/City_Council_Caucus_Room_at_City_Hall.jp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City Council Caucus Room<\/a> from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to meet with residents, listen to their concerns, answer questions and talk about stories and issues that impact the community.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-707488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/City_Council_Caucus_Room_at_City_Hall-686x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"955\"  \/>Philadelphia City Council Caucus room. (Courtesy of Philadelphia City Council communications)\n<\/p>\n<p>Pop-up newsrooms give residents a chance to learn about the newsgathering process and pitch story ideas that could be seen and heard across WHYY\u2019s various platforms. These off-site events are an opportunity for newsroom staff to speak directly with community members and grow relationships with the people we serve.\n  <\/p>\n<p>Tom MacDonald is a veteran journalist who has been reporting on City Hall for 40 years.
