{"id":469638,"date":"2025-12-24T22:46:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T22:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/469638\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T22:46:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T22:46:33","slug":"controversial-youtube-star-ms-rachel-named-to-zohran-mamdanis-inaugural-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/469638\/","title":{"rendered":"Controversial YouTube star Ms. Rachel named to Zohran Mamdani&#8217;s &#8216;inaugural committee&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani\u2019s newly announced inaugural committee is already raising eyebrows \u2014 giving <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/13\/media\/kids-youtube-star-ms-rachel-defends-her-gaza-comments-in-talk-with-anti-israel-reporter\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">controversial children\u2019s YouTuber Ms. Rachel<\/a> a place on the team.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani on Wednesday named dozens of supporters to the committee \u2014 including actress and activist <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/27\/entertainment\/cynthia-nixon-reveals-what-she-hated-about-sex-and-the-city\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cynthia Nixon of \u201cSex and the City\u201d<\/a> fame \u2014 \u00a0who are advising his transition team on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/23\/us-news\/zohran-mamdanis-team-will-pay-for-massive-nyc-block-party-but-questions-remain-over-impacts-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">his Jan. 1 inauguration party<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to be joined by some of the most creative and experienced minds in the city as we build an inauguration that is truly by and for New Yorkers,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.83842011;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38014895\" width=\"1024\" height=\"557\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/kids-youtube-star-ms-rachel-114264678.jpg\" alt=\"Illustration of Ms. Rachel in a jungle scene with four cartoon dinosaurs.\" class=\"wp-image-38014895\"  \/>Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani\u2019s inaugural committee is raising more eyebrows \u2014 giving controversial children\u2019s podcaster Ms. Rachel a place on his team. YouTube\/@msrachel<\/p>\n<p>But the inclusion of the\u00a0toddler whisperer, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso,\u00a0didn\u2019t sit well with everyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Rachel? She brings false charges against Jews. She smears Jews,\u201d\u00a0former CUNY trustee Jeffrey Wiesenfeld told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat a disgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also pointed out that the two Jewish groups represented on the inaugural committee\u00a0\u2014 Jewish Voice for Peace and New York Jewish Agenda \u2014 are far-left and anti-Israel, like Mamdani.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38014907\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-york-city-mayor-elect-117795061.jpg\" alt=\"New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.\" class=\"wp-image-38014907\"  \/>Mamdani will officially take office as NYC\u2019s next mayor on Jan. 1, 2026. Stephen Yang for the NY Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJews and Christians are in for a rough ride,\u201d\u00a0Wiesenfeld\u00a0said.\u00a0\u201cMamdani is not representing the Jewish community in any way, shape or form. This is not David Dinkins\u2019 \u2018gorgeous mosaic.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Griffin Accurso was accused by a Jewish civil rights watchdog group\u00a0in April of repeatedly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/28\/opinion\/youtubes-ms-rachel-and-the-leftists-coming-after-our-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">posting pro-Hamas propaganda<\/a>\u00a0while ignoring the plight of Israeli children affected by the war in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/07\/us-news\/youtube-star-ms-rachel-should-be-probed-by-feds-for-posts-about-gaza-kids-antisemitism-group-says\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">StopAntisemitism called on Attorney General Pam Bondi<\/a> to launch an investigation into the comments, which the group maintained amounted to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/22\/us-news\/at-least-20-of-zohran-mamdani-transition-committee-team-linked-to-radical-anti-zionist-groups-adl\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">anti-Israeli rhetoric<\/a> \u2013 and inappropriate for a podcaster who reaches millions of children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge you and your office to investigate whether or not Ms. Rachel is being remunerated to disseminate Hamas-aligned propaganda to her millions of followers,\u201d the group\u2019s director, Liora Rez, wrote in a letter to Bondi.<\/p>\n<p>Rez claimed Griffin Accurso\u00a0\u201cconsistently amplifies misinformation from Hamas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Wednesday, StopAntisemitism questioned Mamdani\u2019s inaugural committee choices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Mamdani sought to reassure Jews that he would be a mayor for \u2018All New Yorkers,\u2019 naming this rogue\u2019s gallery to be advisors was not a good way to go about it,\u201d the group said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor those Jewish New Yorkers considering relocating, we\u2019re happy to put them in touch with realtors eager to help in Florida, Texas and other locations where they will be welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Griffin Accurso has defended her comments in the past, saying she cares for the plight of \u201call children\u201d including Palestinians, Israelis and Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI care deeply about families and young children,\u201d she also said in a statement to The Post on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAffordable, accessible, high-quality childcare deserves bipartisan support nationwide, and I\u2019m so glad our city will be prioritizing it with Zohran as mayor,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the committee are actors Luis Guzman, John Turturro and Kal Penn, along with Broadway star Cole Escola, novelist Min Jin Lee, and internet personality, The Kid Mero.<\/p>\n<p>The posts on the inaugural panel are unpaid and largely symbolic, involving brainstorming ideas for Mamdani\u2019s massive \u201cInauguration of a New Era\u201d party near City Hall, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of New Yorkers.<\/p>\n<p>Not all nearly 50 people on the committee will be in attendance for the bash \u2014 where socialist Sen.
