A man allegedly experiencing a mental health crisis was arrested for impersonating a border patrol agent and threatening motorists with a firearm.<\/p>\n
SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A 76-year-old man has been arrested after police say he was pretending to be a border patrol agent.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to the 1200 block of West French Place around 2:26 p.m. Wednesday after getting several calls about an elderly man threatening passing motorists with a firearm.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, the man was detained as he was walking back to his residence. A weapon was found in his possession along with a “non-descript badge” on his belt. He was also wearing a hat that implied that he was a border patrol agent.<\/p>\n
Police say the man appeared to be having a mental health crisis. It was determined after investigation that he allegedly walked up to several people who were driving past the location, pointed a gun at them and threatened to shoot them. he also demanded to see their “papers.”<\/p>\n
The man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, deadly conduct and impersonating a public servant.<\/p>\n
