{"id":471753,"date":"2025-12-26T00:45:25","date_gmt":"2025-12-26T00:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/471753\/"},"modified":"2025-12-26T00:45:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-26T00:45:25","slug":"nj-man-charged-with-murder-in-deadly-crossbow-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/471753\/","title":{"rendered":"NJ man charged with murder in deadly crossbow attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A New Jersey man is now in custody<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HCPOProsecutor\/status\/2003131066161479805\/photo\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> after allegedly killing a man with a crossbow<\/a> and barricading himself inside a home, triggering an hours-long standoff with law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Pablo Criollo was in Kearny Saturday night, walking home for dinner, when an arrow suddenly pierced him in the back around 6:45 p.m., the Hudson County Prosecutor\u2019s Office said. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/new-jersey\/bow-arrow-murder-video-kearny\/6434543\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Video of the seemingly random attack<\/a>, which was obtained by NBC 4, shows 45-year-old Criollo stumbling, and then falling to the sidewalk shortly after he is hit. He was rushed to a University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are completely shattered by this act of violence,\u201d his family wrote in a GoFundMe set up after the incident. \u201cPablo came from Ecuador at the age of 16 to start a new life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Oscar Feijoo has since been charged in connection with the deadly violence. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/hudson\/2025\/12\/crossbow-attack-kills-nj-father-walking-down-the-street-we-are-completely-shattered.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">He\u2019s facing counts including<\/a> first-degree murder, first-degree aggravated arson and second- and fourth-degree weapons offenses. When he was initially approached by authorities on Sunday, he barricaded himself inside his home, prompting a response from the Hudson County Regional SWAT team, the prosecutor\u2019s office said. Several fires were ignited inside the residence at about 5 a.m., but he did not emerge from the home until later in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>By then, he was covered in ash and armed, the prosecutor\u2019s office said.
