A man in his 20s was shot during an altercation with several people on a Metro bus in South Los Angeles and the shooter is still on the loose, police said Thursday.<\/p>\n
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 1:58 p.m. Thursday to reports of a shooting near a Metro bus stop at Normandie Avenue and West 39th Street, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.<\/p>\n
During the altercation near Metro Bus 206, one person from the group fired a weapon, striking the victim.<\/p>\n
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead, police said.<\/p>\n
The unidentified suspects ran away from the scene prior to the officers\u2019 arrival.<\/p>\n
\u201cMetro extends its condolences to the victim\u2019s family,\u201d Metro media relations communications director Jose Ubaldo told City News Service.<\/p>\n
