CHICAGO \u2013<\/strong> Kevin Robson<\/strong>, longtime associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Indiana, has been named Loyola University Chicago\u2019s fifth head men\u2019s soccer coach, Director of Athletics\u00a0Steve Watson<\/a> announced.<\/p>\n

Robson brings extensive experience at the highest level of collegiate soccer and a proven track record as one of the nation\u2019s top recruiters, ushering in a new era for Rambler soccer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to welcome Kevin and his family to Chicago as the next leader\u00a0of our men\u2019s soccer program,\u201d said\u00a0Watson. \u201cKevin brings a winning pedigree and a vision for Loyola men\u2019s soccer\u2014both on and off the field\u2014that aligns perfectly with the values of our University and Athletic Department. We\u2019re excited for him to get started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indiana posted a 177-59-48 record during Robson\u2019s tenure from 2013 to 2025, reaching the NCAA College Cup four times and capturing nine Big Ten Championships, including five regular-season titles and four tournament crowns.<\/p>\n

Since assuming recruiting coordinator duties in 2017, Robson helped Indiana consistently sign nationally ranked recruiting classes. Over that span, the Hoosiers led the NCAA in College Cup appearances (four), Sweet 16 appearances (eight) and NCAA Tournament victories (20).<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d first like to thank\u00a0Steve Watson<\/a>,\u00a0Holly Strauss-O\u2019Brien<\/a>, and\u00a0Brian Day<\/a>\u00a0for their belief in me to lead this program,\u201d said Robson.\u00a0\u201cThey have created a special environment here, and I couldn\u2019t be more excited to join this athletic department. I\u2019d also like to thank Todd Yeagley, all the coaches and players I worked with, as well as the Indiana University administration, for everything they have done for me over the past 12 years. I am extremely honored and fortunate to lead this prestigious program and university in one of the best cities in the world. It is a first-class institution with a proud tradition on the field and a great alumni base. I am ready to get started and help lead this program to Atlantic 10 championships as well as deep NCAA Tournament runs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robson earned national recognition for his coaching excellence, serving on three consecutive United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of the Year teams from 2017 to 2019. He was also named a College Soccer News Top Assistant Coach for four straight seasons, an honor awarded annually to a select group of elite assistants nationwide.<\/p>\n

A former Hoosier himself, Robson returned to Bloomington in July 2013 after earlier stints as a student-athlete from 2003-06 and as a student coach in 2007. He was part of Indiana\u2019s NCAA championship teams in 2003 and 2004 and contributed to five Big Ten Championship squads. Robson led the team in assists during the 2006 season and ranked second on the 2004 national title team.<\/p>\n

Beyond his collegiate duties, Robson served as head coach of Alliance FC 2000 and 2001 from 2014-19 and was named the club\u2019s technical director in 2019, working with top youth players from the Midwest.<\/p>\n

Robson has also guided Hoosier Army, Indiana\u2019s men\u2019s soccer alumni team, at The Soccer Tournament \u2014 a national seven-on-seven competition.<\/p>\n

Earlier in his career, Robson coached in the private sector in Denver, serving as head coach of Real Colorado\u2019s U18 Boys team from 2009-10, assistant coach for the Real Colorado Foxes in the Premier Development League in 2011, and head coach of the club\u2019s U14 Boys team from 2011-13.<\/p>\n

Robson won the 2006 U23 national championship with Scott Gallagher Soccer Club and led Chaminade College Preparatory School to back-to-back Missouri state titles in 2001 and 2002, the first in program history.<\/p>\n

A product of the Indiana\u2013St. Louis soccer pipeline, Robson earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in communications and broadcasting from Indiana University in 2007.<\/p>\n
