Snow Week at the Arizona Science Center gives desert dwellers a chance to play with real snow.<\/p>\n

PHOENIX \u2014 Phoenix may have had some record-high temperatures in December, but that won’t stop snow from arriving in the city’s downtown area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Arizona Science Center’s\u00a0<\/a>annual Snow Week launched on Dec. 26 with piles of real snow being transported in for visitors to enjoy.<\/p>\n

“We have brought snow to central Phoenix,” said Lauren Pool with the Arizona Science Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Friday, families could be seen making snowballs, building tiny snowmen and sledding down the museum’s snow hill. Pool said the snow is refreshed each morning and will last through till the end of the day.<\/p>\n

The week-long event is a great opportunity for students to learn about the different states of matter, Pool added.<\/p>\n

In addition, Snow Week includes various winter-related demonstrations and activities throughout the museum. Snow Week runs until Jan. 4 and operates daily from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

Most Snow Week activities are included with an Arizona Science Center admission ticket or member pass.<\/p>\n
