{"id":474278,"date":"2025-12-27T04:42:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-27T04:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/474278\/"},"modified":"2025-12-27T04:42:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-27T04:42:13","slug":"dlnr-recruiting-for-state-conservation-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/474278\/","title":{"rendered":"DLNR recruiting for state conservation officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) &#8211; The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources is looking to hire state conservation officers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to DLNR, the application for 53 entry level officers opens Jan. 3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The new officers will work for the DLNR\u2019s Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement, or DOCARE.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cProtecting Hawaii\u2019s natural, cultural, historical, and recreational resources is a unique privilege,\u201d said DOCARE Chief Jason Redulla. \u201cInterest has always been high for this important job. With the dynamic working environment we have here in Hawaii, and the limited number of spots available, we expect that trend to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The state has vacancies in several locations in Hawaii. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Conservation and Resources Enforcement Officer positions are full-time, permanent civil service roles. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur area of responsibility is vast and spans from mauka to makai, and three miles out-to-sea,\u201d Redulla said. \u201cThere\u2019s no shortage of work to be done and we look forward to increasing our ranks with dedicated people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dlnr.hawaii.gov\/jobs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/dlnr.hawaii.gov\/jobs\/\">The jobs will be advertised at the state\u2019s jobs website<\/a>, which is operated by the Department of Human Resources Development. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Applications and other required documentation can be submitted at that link.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Basic qualifications include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Minimum age of 21 at the time of application<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/files.hawaii.gov\/dhrd\/main\/eccd\/Class%20Specifications%20and%20Minimum%20Qualification%20Requirements\/Group_VIII\/8591mq.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/files.hawaii.gov\/dhrd\/main\/eccd\/Class%20Specifications%20and%20Minimum%20Qualification%20Requirements\/Group_VIII\/8591mq.pdf\">Two years of general work experience<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Meeting federal and state firearms regulations<\/li>\n<li>The ability to swim 100 meters within three minutes<\/li>\n<li>The ability to hike one mile within 20 minutes<\/li>\n<li>A valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Passing pre-employment checks, including prior employment, criminal background, fingerprinting, and drug testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Recruitment begins on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 12 a.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Once application intake limits are reached, the recruitments will close.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For questions about the application process, call the State Recruiting Office at (808) 587-1111.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 Hawaii News Now.
