An Austrian tourist has been rescued after falling onto rocks below the cliffs near Cape Schanck, south of Melbourne.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to Bushrangers Bay, on the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula, about 1:15pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Police said the 25-year-old woman fell about six metres.<\/p>\n

The police helicopter and Air Ambulance were called in, and drones were used to help coordinate the rescue.<\/p>\n
Crews then made their way down onto the rocks beside breaking ocean waves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The tourist was treated by paramedics after suffering what a police spokesperson has described as non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
“Emergency services moved the woman to higher ground on a stretcher to avoid the tide coming in,” a police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

The woman was winched onboard the Air Ambulance before receiving further treatment on top of the cliffs. (ABC News)<\/p>\n
The woman was then winched onto the Air Ambulance and lifted back up to the top of the cliffs where she received further treatment from paramedics.<\/p>\n
She was then flown to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
